Hanging the First StripUpdated a month ago

Using a level and a pencil, draw a straight line down the wall to indicate the starting point of your wallpaper.

Once the line is marked take the booked strip to be the first strip hung and gently unfurl it. Place the wallpaper to the wall at the top of the wall, keeping in mind the pattern match, and begin sliding into position. The line you drew on the wall will be your guide for the seam. The wallpaper adhesive and the primer on the wall will provide slip, allowing the strip to move on the wall.

Working from the ceiling down, smooth out the paper as you position. Smooth out the wallpaper gently, to be sure you're not stretching the paper or squeezing out adhesive. Once the wallpaper strip has been adhered to the wall and any bubbles have been smoothed out, trim the excess paper from the top and bottom of the strip with a trim guide and a snap blade knife. Gently wash the wallpaper and baseboard with a damp sponge.
